Governance
The three following committees oversee the governance of the French national network of naturalist collections (RECOLNAT): steering committee, executive committee and scientific and technical committee.
The steering committee (CODIR) validates, orients and makes decisions regarding the RECOLNAT infrastructure (entry of new Members and Partners, appointment of STC members, orientations, Work Plan...). It is composed of one representative (and one substitute) from each Member and one representative from each of the following bodies: AllEnvi and the Ministries in charge of Research, Ecology and Culture. This committee meets at least once a year.
The executive committee (COMEX) makes recommendations and ensures that the Work Plan is properly implemented. It is composed of one representative of each Member or by a person from the same institution with the same qualifications. It meets at least twice a year.
The scientific and technical committee (CST) guides and evaluates the work of the infrastructure. It is composed of a maximum of 25 nationally and internationally recognised experts in the scientific and technical fields of interest to RECOLNAT such as conservation and management of collections and digitisation. It meets at least once a year.
